Cutalong’s highly anticipated community is set to transform the living and recreational landscape with a plan to develop 891 residences. These will include single-family executive and estate homesites, stay-and-play golf villas and cottages, condominiums, and townhomes.

“A championship golf course with amenities for everyone in the family, Cutalong is an exciting place to be,” said Chris Baird, Director of Marketing and Sales at Cutalong.

This August, the Cutalong Golf Clubhouse will break ground. This private clubhouse will serve both members and resort guests, providing a full-service restaurant and bar, a golf pro shop, and check-in services for stay-and-play residences. Positioned off the 1st tee box and 18th green, the clubhouse patio will offer stunning views of the course and a welcoming social space.

Following site plan approvals, presales for the stay-and-play Villas and Cottages will launch in 2025. The Villas will feature four bedrooms and four baths, while the Cottages will offer two bedrooms and two baths, perfect for weekend getaways and golf packages.

Cutalong’s first phase will include a range of amenities including Cutalong Golf Clubhouse & Pavilion, Lakeside Marina (first phase) featuring Cutalong Club Boat Rentals, Blackwater Creek Trailhead with four pickleball courts. Trailhead Comfort Stations, One mile of trails, Fishing Pond and Shed, as well as access to Cutalong Golf Club Events.

In a commitment to becoming one of Virginia’s premier golf courses, Cutalong has made significant improvements in 2023:

Green Enlargement: Greens on holes 4, 8, and 13 were expanded to allow for more pin placements and better playability.

Hole 1 Redesign: The fairway was lowered to improve the view from the tee and future clubhouse, with new bunkers added for strategic play. The green was reshaped, and surrounding bunkers were relocated for a more aesthetic appeal.

Jimmy Pierson, Cutalong’s Director of Golf Course and Grounds, has enhanced the course’s attention to detail. The fescue rough around each hole elegantly defines the Bermuda grass fairways, and undergrowth clearance in wooded areas has improved ball visibility and playability. Members and guests praise the greens as some of the best in the state, offering a sense of exclusivity despite ongoing construction.
