Located next to Kings Dominion in Doswell, VA, La Herradura Authentic Mexican Restaurant is quickly becoming a beloved local gem, known for its warm atmosphere and delicious cuisine. The driving force behind this vibrant eatery is Mauricio Elston Sosa, affectionately known by Lake Anna locals as “Tomato.”
Sosa hails from Veracruz, Mexico, and has been a dedicated presence in the restaurant business for over 15 years. Lake Anna locals known him from El Patron in Bumpass, the Mexican restaurant at Pleasants Landing, for his signature warm welcome, always ending with a heartfelt “hell yeah!”.

With hard work, passion, and the dream of owning his own restaurant, Sosa finally achieved his goal with La Herradura, opening its doors on April 17, 2023. His vision was clear: to create a place known for its authentic flavors, welcoming environment, cleanliness, and top-quality food. Sosa’s personal touch and delicious food have made La Herradura a favorite among Lake Anna locals.
Mauricio’s culinary expertise and dedication to authenticity shine through every dish at La Herradura. His favorite, the Molcajete, exemplifies this commitment. This hearty dish, served in a traditional volcanic stone bowl, combines beef, pork, chicken, chorizo, vegetables, and spices to create a symphony of flavors that delights every palate.
When he’s not delighting customers with his culinary creations, Mauricio enjoys fishing and spending quality time with his family. A devoted husband and father of two, Mauricio values the balance between his professional and personal life.
Mauricio’s aims to create a dining experience that stands out among other Mexican restaurants, with an emphasis on authenticity, a welcoming atmosphere, and cleanliness.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
