The Men of Lake Anna calendar is back, proving once again that “local men doing real things… for charity” is more than a catchy slogan, it’s become a homegrown tradition with heart. First launched in 2022, the project has now produced four calendars, each spotlighting respected community leaders, entrepreneurs and beloved neighborhood personalities ranging in age from their 20s to their 70s.
A volunteer selection committee including Tiffany Hazelwood and Ronda Guill choose the models each year, seeking men who represent the best of Lake Anna: community pillars with dynamic personalities and unique hobbies and sports interests. Their stories and spirit are brought to life through the photography of Carol Barker Wyatt and John Heishman of Lake Anna Photography, whose action shots capture these men in their element, and sometimes in midair — doing what they love.
Calendar creator Tiffany Hazelwood says the magic happens when the men embrace their individuality. “I always tell them: Bring your idea, bring your energy, and we’ll create something unforgettable together,” she said. “The more they dial up their own swagger, the more their inner heartthrob shines through.”
The results over the years have been equal parts hilarious, heartwarming and downright iconic: Santa making moonshine, twins posing proudly with their gas cans, a cigar bubble bath, a true Scottish kilt moment (complete with lipstick kisses) and even a reverend rising dramatically from the water. And of course, fan favorite Tom Herdman — who, at age 68, struck a memorable pose as a “sexy soldier” — embraced the playful “beefcake” spirit that some models are more than happy to lean into.
This year brings a new twist. With four calendars — some including bonus months — the project has now featured 54 models, which adds up to something unexpected but fitting: a full deck of cards. Yes, 52 cards plus two jokers (and the jokers promise to be extra fun). The playing cards will be available later this month for $15 each or two for $25.
The 2026 Men of Lake Anna calendars are already printed and on sale for $20 at local establishments, including Lake Anna Taphouse, Southern Revere Cellars and Mineral Barber Shop. Both the calendar and the new playing cards make easy, memorable holiday gifts for anyone who loves this community — and the characters who make it special.
As for what’s next? Some say these men are ready for a national spotlight. After all, while the world has no shortage of calendars featuring perfectly sculpted models, none celebrate authenticity quite like this one. These men are real, they’re proud and they’re doing real things — for a real cause: local charities.
And as Lake Anna has happily learned, sometimes the most charming models are the ones who don’t take themselves too seriously. After all, a calendar this playful might just make you look forward to Mondays.
