Lake Anna has a new favorite off-season event as Lisa Marie Day claimed the top prize at the inaugural Lake Anna Idol, bringing the community together for a finale that lit up the quieter months at the lake.
Taking second place was Sarah Bregg, whose powerful stage presence and dynamic delivery captivated the crowd. Eric Lokey rounded out the top three, earning third place with a performance that showcased both charisma and musical versatility.
Hosted at The Lounge at Vito’s Italian Restaurant & Grill, the competition drew performers and spectators from across Central Virginia, turning what is traditionally a quieter season at the lake into a lively celebration of music and community.
According to owner Rosie Taormina, the success of the competition exceeded expectations.
“If being obsessed with Lake Anna Idol at The Lounge is wrong, I don’t want to be right,” said local fan and semi-finals judge Amy Beebe. “The atmosphere, the voices, and the friends all in one place created a night that was as beautiful as it was eccentric. To be honest, the level of talent I heard didn’t just meet expectations — it blew me away.”
Taormina expressed surprise and deep gratitude for the enthusiasm the event geerated, noting the positive energy and increased activity it brought to the lake during the off-season months. The turnout, the talent level, and the community support have already secured the event’s future.
“I’m glad everyone enjoyed it!” said Austin Nester of Raise the Roof Entertainment, the karaoke DJ leading the competition. “It drew a crowd unlike anything I’ve ever seen before at The Lounge! We are working on some ideas for a new contest here very soon.”
Lake Anna Idol will return next year.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
