In a remarkable act of kindness, administrators from Louisa County Public Schools (LCPS) journeyed across the state today to deliver a donation to Grayson County Public Schools (GCPS), totaling more than $30,000. The funds were raised through LCPS’s month-long October campaign, “Kindness for the Commonwealth,” aimed at supporting Grayson County in its recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene’s widespread damage in late September.
This annual kindness initiative from Louisa County schools encourages the community to give back and promote goodwill throughout Virginia. This year, LCPS focused on helping Grayson County, where the schools and community are still rebuilding in the wake of the recent hurricane. The donation represents contributions from coin drives at each Louisa school, collections held at athletic events, and generous support from the local community.
During their visit, Louisa administrators toured all six Grayson County schools as well as the district’s administrative offices, personally delivering the donation and extending their support to school staff, students, and families.
Photos shared from the day capture the spirit of “Kindness for the Commonwealth,” with Louisa staff presenting checks and visiting with Grayson students. Earlier in October, LCPS’s #Kindness Day kickstarted the campaign with impactful acts of service, including cleaning 30 miles of local roads, distributing coupons, and cooking appreciation meals for community members, all to raise awareness and inspire generosity within their community.
For LCPS, kindness is more than an annual event; it’s a cornerstone of their values, and this year, they were proud to bring that kindness to Grayson County.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
