Louisa, VA – The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Louisa Veterinary Service and Louisa CART, is gearing up for its annual Spring Rabies Clinic. This vital initiative aims to provide accessible and low-cost rabies vaccinations to the public, extending beyond Louisa County residents.
Scheduled for Sunday, April 7th, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, the clinic will adopt the successful drive-through format from last year. The venue remains the spacious parking area of the Louisa County Fairgrounds, located at 208 Fredericksburg Ave, Louisa VA 23093.
Attendees can avail themselves of rabies vaccines for their pets at a nominal fee of $12.00 per animal. It’s essential to bring exact cash, as credit cards and checks will not be accepted on-site.
Rabies vaccinations are not just recommended but mandated by state codes and local ordinances. This preventive measure is crucial for public safety and curbing the spread of the deadly rabies virus. Left untreated, rabies is invariably fatal for both humans and animals, emphasizing the urgency of timely vaccination. Even survivors of the disease can suffer lasting effects.
To streamline the process and ensure adequate vaccine doses, pre-registration is encouraged. Interested individuals can register online at www.LouisaSheriff/RabiesClinic. Pre-registration concludes on March 31st, 2024. However, additional vaccines will be available on-site until supplies last.
On the day of the event, participants are advised to enter the Louisa County Fairgrounds via Fredericksburg Ave. Pets must remain in vehicles, with dogs leashed and cats secured in carriers. Animal Control personnel will distribute certificates and rabies tags as vehicles progress through the designated route. Exit will be facilitated on Church Ave.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasizes the importance of pre-registration to gauge vaccine demand accurately, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinic experience for all attendees.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
