In the winter of 2008, Sam Smith faced a problem many rural residents know well: the lack of reliable internet. Undeterred, Sam researched and discovered a way to bring high-speed internet to his home. Realizing the potential to help his neighbors, he shared this service at minimal cost, quickly spreading through the community. By 2019, Sam and his family had taken a significant leap forward, establishing their own Fiber Optics Infrastructure. Today, iWiSP serves half its customers with fiber and half with wireless broadband, continually expanding to reach underserved areas.
When Sam isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his family, particularly his grandkids. A family that loves staying active, they often play pickleball together. “Family is the key to our life,” Sam shares.
Lake Anna’s community is one of the Smith family’s greatest joys. Through their business, they’ve forged strong friendships and built a personal community. “Our customers have become a big part of our family,” Sam says. “We work hard to bring a service to Lake Anna. We love that people see that and recognize it. Thank you doesn’t seem enough.”
Reflecting on their journey, the Smiths’ core values of love and hard work consistently drive their business goals. They pride themselves on being community-driven, locally owned, and family-operated, ensuring they meet the specific needs of their area. This personal investment makes iWiSP stand out from its competitors.
Outside of work, the Smiths have diverse hobbies: Sam enjoys woodworking, Helen loves sewing and quilting, Amber is passionate about the outdoors and water, Jeremy likes target practice, and Kyle is into fitness and workouts.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
