Mineral Express has been purchased by Mike Rassiwalla, the owner of the Elk Creek Store, signaling continued local investment in convenience retail and food service in the Lake Anna region.
In a previous interview for an article on the Elk Creek Store, Rassiwalla shared the personal connection that first brought him to the area. “When I first came to the lake in 2013, I fell in love with it immediately,” Rassiwalla said. That first impression led him to imagine a future rooted in the Lake Anna community. Just one year later, he officially took ownership of the Elk Creek Country Store. “The store was in a bit of rough shape,” he recalled, “but I loved it.”
Since then, Rassiwalla has focused on revitalizing the Elk Creek Store by expanding food offerings and creating a welcoming, community-centered environment that goes beyond a traditional fuel stop. That same philosophy is expected to guide the future of Mineral Express, blending everyday convenience with a stronger emphasis on quality food and customer experience.
To celebrate the new ownership, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, January 22.
The acquisition of Mineral Express reflects Rassiwalla’s continued commitment to locally owned businesses with deep community ties, extending the vision that has shaped the Elk Creek Store into the heart of the town of Mineral.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
