Mike Kavros, owner of Callie Opie’s Orchard at Lake Anna, was named 2025 Businessperson of the Year at the Louisa County Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting and Awards Celebration, held June 25 at Spring Creek Golf Club. Presented by United Bank, the event welcomed more than 180 business and community leaders for an evening dedicated to honoring those making a lasting impact in Louisa County. Kavros, whose venue has become a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike, accepted the award with humility and gratitude.
“This recognition is not just for me—it’s for our entire team, our loyal customers, and the community that supports us every step of the way,” Kavros said. “Callie Opie’s is more than a business. It’s a place where people connect, celebrate, and grow together.”
The Chamber also honored three impressive finalists: Lloyd Runnett, Julie Smith, and Laura Watts. Each was featured in a heartfelt video tribute produced by Jacob Capozella of Louisa County Public Schools, sharing their entrepreneurial journeys and highlighting the leadership and dedication they bring to the Louisa business community.
Other award recipients included Rappahannock Electric Cooperative as Chamber Partner of the Year, Julie Manzari as Volunteer of the Year, and Louisa County Public Schools as the recipient of the Good Neighbor Award.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
