The fun really ramps up when the Louisa County Fair officially opens on Thursday, July 31st with our sensory hours from 3-5PM. With so much to do, see or eat, the Louisa County Fair might seem a bit overstimulating to some. In order to make the fair an enjoyable experience for all members of our community, we will be turning down the lights and sound for a few hours to ensure a sensory friendly atmosphere. We invite members of our community with sensory needs and their families to enjoy the fair during our special sensory hours from 3-5pm on Thursday, July 31st

Special sensory activities have been planned, with modifications in certain zones of the fairgrounds.

Friday and Saturday are filled with the same agricultural themed fun, and so much more from 9AM-10PM. A wide selection of music on the main stage and local performances and demonstrations on the community stage. Bring the kids in the morning to enjoy the teddy bear clinic with Dr. Melinda McCall, Smokey the Bear, pony rides, a magician, and more! Did you hear we also will be featuring daily shows from the Pork Chop Revue, seen on America’s Got Talent? Come back that night for the evening bands, cold beer, and some fun rides! There will be games for the whole family, in the kids games tent as well as adult games. Whether a cornhole tournament, a game of trivia, or watermelon eating, we have a competition for you!

Agriculture comes to the forefront of this event with the 4-H/FFA Livestock Show and Auction. Thursday, July 31st at 3:00pm is the annual Buddy Show. This is open to anyone ages 8-18 with physical, intellectual, and/or emotional disabilities that would like to connect with a lamb or goat. Everyone that signs up will be paired with a 4-H mentor and an animal to show in their very own class! Join us later that day at 4PM for the rabbit, poultry, and dairy goat show. And on Friday, August 1st at 9:30am, the 4-Hers will be in the ring with their Hogs, Cattle, Lambs, and Goats! They will then auction off their animal projects in the ring at 4:00PM on Saturday, August 2nd. What a perfect chance to get involved in the community and support our youth by purchasing one of their animals!

We are planning a great selection of local vendors for you to do some shopping. Crafters galore on our vendor row! We will also have a great selection of Louisa County Fair merchandise available for purchase to celebrate Louisa County’s event of the summer. Grab a bite to eat, too, and a cold drink on a warm summer day. Yes, beer included!

The Fair has a selection of exhibits that locals can enter. Do you own an antique tractor manufactured in 1960 or earlier? Visit here (www.louisacountyfair.com/antiquetractor ) for the rules and to enter! Are you the best baker, tomato grower, quilter, photographer, or anything else from our wide range of judged exhibits?
