Lake Anna residents now have a new option for same-day sick visits and comprehensive primary care with the opening of Lake Anna Integrative Care, a wellness-focused medical practice dedicated to treating the whole person: body, mind and lifestyle.

The center, located at 2444 New Bridge Road in Mineral, opened in November and offers a combination of primary care, mental health services, acute illness visits, and integrative wellness support in a single practice. The clinic is led by Rachel Farrar, MSN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, a dual-certified nurse practitioner with two decades of experience in primary care, urgent care and occupational medicine.

Farrar said the goal is simple: “Feel heard. Feel better.” She said the practice was created for patients who want a provider who listens and collaborates with them, rather than focusing solely on symptoms.

Same-day sick visits are available for common illnesses such as strep, flu, urinary tract infections, sinus infections, bronchitis and gastrointestinal issues. Patients can book appointments online or by calling 540-200-2813. The office will be open Monday and Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and closed on Tuesdays.

In addition to acute care, Lake Anna Integrative Care offers primary care for all ages, mental and behavioral health services for children through adults, wellness and weight-management programs, and occupational health services including CDL exams, pre-employment and fitness-for-duty screenings, and drug testing. The practice operates on a cash-pay model with transparent pricing, and provides superbills for patients who wish to submit claims to insurance or health savings accounts.

Farrar said her clinical approach blends traditional medicine with proven complementary therapies. Care plans may incorporate nutrition guidance, exercise prescriptions, light therapy, hormone support, or targeted medications, depending on a patient’s needs. She said physical and mental health are deeply connected and respond best when treated together.

Integrative care at Lake Anna Integrative Care focuses on what works — not whether a therapy is considered “traditional” or “alternative.” Farrar said the approach centers on evidence-based strategies tailored to each patient, blending conventional medicine with proven complementary options when appropriate. Treatment plans may incorporate nutrition support, movement-based therapies, light therapy, hormone or peptide treatments, and medications, depending on what best fits a patient’s goals and overall health.

“My mission is to help clients make health the foundation for living fully: feeling strong, thinking clearly, and enjoying life,” Farrar said. “Care is collaborative so you can take ownership of your health.”

While Lake Anna Integrative Care does not provide full pediatric wellness care such as well-child exams or vaccinations, children and adolescents are welcome for behavioral health concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, and mood support, as well as occasional sick visits when appropriate.

Farrar earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia in 2003, completed a post-graduate program in psychiatric-mental health at Radford University, and holds advanced training in functional medicine.
