At the heart of the Lake Anna Breeze is this community. When I began this journey as Breeze editor, I quickly realized my “why”… there is an abundant amount of quality content being distributed for the tourist economy… Lake Anna is a special place, and our visitors should have access to our very best. But to grow a strong community means growing and strengthening it from the inside out – not just attracting growth from the outside in. That’s where The Breeze comes in.
Our growing tourist economy is here to celebrate the present moment, and to make new memories… but at the core of all of it is the future of us, the people who live, work and play here at Lake Anna. The Breeze is here not just to record the past and present, but to nurture and cultivate a community that all pulls the rope together.
There’s an article on page 13 I want you to read. Nonprofit director David Mills helps us to understand what makes a strong community: “Almost everyone looks for a place to live that feels like that ski experience of running fast on glassy water, but it’s actually the people in a place that determine the quality of life.”
Without a strong presence of news, people don’t feel like they’re really being heard. We can post on social media, we can gossip about developments and roundabouts among ourselves… but are we really being heard? It’s the presence of regular community news that allows important conversations to take place, creating a stronger community.
We can create a future community, together.
You’re invited to join us for a ‘Co-Creator Lab’ in October that will allow for special discussions on how we can all make this community better. Details TBA.
Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
