With the opening of some unique gift stores in the last couple of years and an uptick in holiday markets around the lake, it’s easy to find unique holiday gifts and stocking stuffers. In addition to two new stores right off of 208 (Home Point and Ol’ Roosting Box), here are the top reliable shops to look for specialty items you can’t find anywhere else:
1) Home Point Lake Anna off of 208
The store is more than just a furniture store, it’s a destination for inspiration! The wide range of inventory means you can find something for everyone on your list. Alongside the tea towels and lake-themed art pieces, Home Point also offers a selection of wine glasses, books, and gourmet food items. These products are thoughtfully curated, making each purchase not just a gift, but a story. Tammy Prestipino not only has a keen eye for style, but also a strong sense of community, often hosting local artisans and their work in her shop. Explore Home Point for a unique gift that brings a touch of Lake Anna to your loved ones. Visit Home Point.
2) Ol’ Roosting Box off of 208
This delightful little shop is a not-so-hidden gem, offering a fantastic array of gifts for those who appreciate vintage and eclectic treasures. From one-of-a-kind home decor items to handcrafted stocking stuffers, Ol’ Roosting Box has something for everyone on your Christmas list.
The Ol’ Roosting Box is unique to Lake Anna as it is the only real gift shop that has new and vintage items for sale. Located right off of 208, Chris & Laura Brooks and Michael & Laura Christopher partnered to open the store in 2021.
3) Provisions Thrift Store off of 208
If you talk to any Lake Anna local, they will tell you how awesome Provisions Thrift Store is. Right off of 208, Provisions is a traditional thrift store with a mission of “Bridging the gap to give families who have suffered from hardships a place to come and find blessings.”
Not only is the staff top-notch in the area of friendliness, but they have some really fun and unique finds. Not to mention, the young man who works on Saturday is single (just to let the single ladies know…).
4) Sunny Bear Homestead in Partlow
If you’re wondering…. yes, that yellow school bus is actually an artisan store for homemade goods, including teas, soaps and body butter. Made from all vegan products, you can stock up on all-natural items at Sunny Bear Homestead. Sunny Bear’s school bus is located right off of Partlow rd in Partlow… right up the road from The Meat Hook butcher, which, by the way… is moving to a new location soon.
5) Yesterday & Today in Mineral
Located in Mineral, Yesterday & Today carries new and custom printed clothing, vintage and upcycled home decor, chalk paints and more. This brick and mortar business offers online shopping with local pickup and convenient outside lockboxes.
Most unique about this store is that they also offer craft classes. The phone here is a paint pouring class they did in November with ornaments.
6) Flower Child Consignment in Louisa
Located on Main Street in Louisa, Flower Child Consignment offers great prices on gently used pieces! Not only do they sell kids clothes and toys, but they have a selection of adult items as well.
7) Jen’s Crafters in Mineral
If you want to support local crafters and artists, look no further than Jen’s Crafters off of Davis Hwy in Mineral! With an assortment of Christmas ornaments, jewelry and other handcrafted items from Virginia artists, you are guaranteed to find the most unique gifts. Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
