Lake Anna, VA — On June 1st, New Bridge Fire & Rescue, Station 8, located at 1856 New Bridge Road, will celebrate its first anniversary of dedicated service to the Lake Anna community and Louisa County. The milestone is marked by substantial community support and ambitious new goals for the future.
“The funds raised during the last year are the result of over 300 individual and business contributions, brick purchases, bench/flagpole sponsors for the memorial patio at Station 8, fundraising events and from golfers and businesses who played in or sponsored last year’s golf tournament at Cutalong,” said Jane Gallagher, one of the directors at the Foundation for Lake Anna Emergency Services.
Thanks to the generosity of Lake Anna residents and businesses, the contribution will significantly aid in the purchase of a new fire and rescue boat, scheduled to be ordered in July 2024. The boat’s total cost is $202,000, and it will greatly enhance the emergency response capabilities on the lake.
Over the past year, more than 300 individuals and businesses have contributed to fundraising efforts. Donations have come from brick purchases, sponsorships for benches and flagpoles for the memorial patio at Station 8, and various fundraising events. These events included those hosted at the Lake Anna Taphouse and Brewery, Cooling Pond Brewery, Callie Opie’s Orchard Restaurant, and a golf tournament at Cutalong at Lake Anna, which saw participation from 80 golfers and 37 business sponsors.
With the new boat funded, the Foundation is now shifting its focus to acquiring an air cascade system for Station 8, which is crucial for filling firefighters’ breathing apparatus canisters with air.
To launch fundraising for this new initiative, Cutalong at Lake Anna will host the second annual Foundation for Lake Anna Emergency Services golf tournament on June 18th. The Cove at Lake Anna Restaurant is again the title sponsor, and 38 local businesses have already pledged their support. The event is nearing its capacity of 100 golfers, who will enjoy a day on the course followed by an after-party featuring beer from Cooling Pond Brewery, pizza from Vito’s Italian Restaurant, and music by Chris Hanks.
Exciting prizes for the tournament include four Hole-in-One awards: a Madjax $14,250 Golf Cart from Lake Anna Golf Carts, a Bushnell RangeFinder and Garmin GPS Watch, a UHD Smart TV, and a Charcoal Smoker. Additional prizes include trophies for the first place team, gift cards for the top three teams, and awards for the longest drive and closest to the pin.
To register for the tournament, visit Golf Genius or New Bridge Rescue.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
