Ten-week event to feature weekly qualifiers and a $500 grand prize finale

The Lounge on Lake Anna has announced the launch of its 1st Annual Karaoke Contest, a ten-week competition presented in partnership with Raise the Roof Entertainment and hosted by DJ Austin Nester, who leads karaoke nights at The Lounge every Thursday.

The event begins Thursday, November 13, 2025, and continues weekly through February 5, 2026, with the finale scheduled for February 19, 2026. Each Thursday evening, contestants will have the chance to sign up and perform two songs back-to-back — the first as a warm-up and the second for judging.

Each night, two finalists will be selected to advance to the finale, where all qualifying singers will compete for a $500 cash prize and a trophy. The contest is free to enter and open to the public, with the exception of the event host and judges.

Participants will be judged in five categories — Vocal Ability (pitch, tone, range), Song Choice (suitability for style), Timing (tempo and rhythm), Audience Engagement, and Overall Song Performance — each scored from one to five points, for a maximum total of 25 points.

In the event of a tie, a sing-off will determine the advancing contestant. If a tie occurs on the final night, the overall winner will be chosen by a random audience draw.

DJ Austin Nester, known for his energetic Thursday night karaoke sessions, said he hopes the competition will bring even more life to The Lounge’s growing entertainment scene.

“We already have a great crowd every week,” Nester said. “This contest is just another way to get people excited, showcase local talent, and have fun together through the winter.”

Organizers say the event is designed to encourage community participation, friendly competition, and great live entertainment throughout the colder months.

The Lounge invites residents and visitors alike to come out, support local performers, and enjoy a season of music, laughter, and camaraderie at Lake Anna.
