Selecting a photography specialty in a city might be a straightforward decision, but when surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Lake Anna, narrowing down to a specific genre becomes a delightful challenge. The picturesque landscape, serene waters, lush surroundings, lakefront homes, vibrant communities, wildlife, mesmerizing sunsets, invigorating sunrises, changing weather, jet boats, water sports, and an abundance of other elements make it nearly impossible for me to declare a singular focus. Perhaps, I should simply embrace the notion that my niche is Lake Anna!
In the vast and dynamic world of photography, the process of niching down to a specific genre is not only common but often essential for photographers seeking to carve out their unique identity and expertise. Niching down is one thing that I am not interested in doing and I blame it on Lake Anna!
Whether you are using a cell phone, a drone, underwater gear or an expensive DSLR camera, once you start planning out your shots instead of being an opportunity “shot” shooter you may notice that you lean toward favoring one type of photography over another.
Let’s say you plan on taking a boat ride at sunset, does your image include smiling people in the sunset? If it does you are probably a memory maker or Portrait Photographer.
Do you set out by boat at a planned time focused on capturing the colors of the sunset at the peak time and one of your boat passengers photobombs your perfect shot and it annoys you? Then chances are you prefer Landscape Photography and you are a bit of an artist.
I would lean towards Nature Photography if you know a bald eagle flies by your dock at a certain time every evening on its way back to the nest so you calculate a plan and know precisely where you want to be to capture the best angle of the magnificent bird, hoping it might be carrying a fish.
Houses? OH! the beautiful Lake Anna homes! Are you like me, in love with the story of homes? Do you fluff pillows, making all the lines straight, stack table chairs equally apart before you take your proud room/décor image? You could be obsessed with the details… or you just might like Real Estate Photography!
Let me mention Wedding Photography, despite the pleas, asking guests not to photograph during a wedding ceremony, you find you just can’t resist taking that sneaky shot. If you’re the hopeless romantic then you probably LOVE weddings and Lake Anna weddings are the BEST!
There are so many other genres of photography not mentioned like Action Photography, Event Photography, Drone Photography, the list goes on.
Ready to capture your own piece of Lake Anna magic? Whether it’s a family portrait by the water, photography, drone & videography for your Airbnb, or a dreamy wedding moment, Lake Anna Photography is here to turn your visions into timeless images. Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
