The “Men of Lake Anna” Calendar debuted in 2022 with proceeds benefiting charity. The idea sparked during a Florida vacation when some ladies asked to photograph my fiance, Tom, (and I) for their annual calendar tradition. This inspired us to create a similar calendar featuring men of all ages at Lake Anna, with sales supporting charity.
The idea took off at the Cooling Pond Brewery’s cornhole tournament just before Halloween 2022. Local men, initially hesitant, agreed one by one, egging each other on about their photoshoot themes. The response was so enthusiastic that we extended the calendar to 16 months. With photography by Carol Wyatt and John Heishman and design by Ronda Guill of Midtown Printing and Design, the calendar was ready by Christmas.
In 2023, we proudly released the second Men of Lake Anna Calendar, featuring models aged 22 to 70s, and coined the slogan, “Local Men Doing Real Things… For Charity!” Local businesses sponsored each month, covering printing costs so all proceeds could go to “The Journey Home” and “The 5:16 Project,” our chosen charities.
After a break in 2024, we’re excited to continue the tradition with the 2025 calendar, launching early in October 2024. This year’s lineup includes a Reverend, a pilot, a radio personality, a former national broadcaster, and our first “Legacy” model – the son of a 2022 model. We’ll reveal their identities after the photo shoots.
You can support the 2025 calendar by becoming a monthly sponsor or purchasing individual calendar days for $50 each to mark birthdays, anniversaries, or special occasions. Pre-orders will be available soon. Contact Ronda at [email protected] for more details.
