LOUISA, VA – The Louisa Arts Center is set to host a captivating exhibition titled “Artistry of Quilting” by The Piecemakers, a Lake Monticello-based community of passionate quilters. The showcase promises an array of masterfully crafted quilts, ranging from traditional bed covers to stunning wall hangings and art quilts.

GiGi Dodds, Show Coordinator for The Piecemakers, expressed her excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to be at the Louisa Arts Center with our first quilt show. We will be displaying about 40 quilts of varying sizes, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication of our members.”

Attendees can expect to marvel at not just bed and lap quilts but also a diverse collection of items such as pillows, bags, table runners, and more, all crafted with precision and creativity by The Piecemakers. The exhibition is a testament to the group’s commitment to supporting and inspiring one another in their craft.

The grand opening reception is scheduled for Friday, April 5, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Purcell Gallery within the Louisa Arts Center. The exhibition will then continue to enchant visitors until Friday, June 7, 2024. Admission to the Purcell Gallery is free during box office hours, Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, as well as one hour before performances in the Cooke-Haley Theater.

For those unable to attend in person, the web gallery will be accessible for viewing and purchases from April 5 to June 7, providing an opportunity for art enthusiasts to acquire these exquisite pieces from the comfort of their homes.
