Founded in 2022, the “Jet-Ski Brigade” has quickly become a beloved fixture on Lake Anna—a vibrant meet-up group of jet-ski enthusiasts who regularly hit the water together, most often on Friday or Sunday mornings. Their adventures have taken them to a variety of scenic spots, including breakfast runs to Vito’s, lively picnics and tailgating at Cocktail Cove, and even laid-back visits to friends’ private boathouse.

“It’s really about connecting with others who share a passion for water sports,” said Chet Wojcik, a regular rider and enthusiastic supporter of the group. “Everyone’s welcome, though we usually top out at around 15 jet-skis. That keeps things fun and manageable—and we’re always mindful not to overstay our welcome in any one area, especially on busier weekends,” Wojcik added.

While riders from both the Public and Private Sides of Lake Anna have always been invited to participate, the Private Side recently launched its own equivalent group: the “Lake Anna Jet-Setters.”

The initiative was led by Susan Kingsbury, a active member of the Lake Anna Roosters and Foxes, who stepped up to organize and energize the hot side’s jet-ski scene. “Once word of the Jet-Ski Brigade’s outings made waves across the lake, the excitement was contagious,” Kingsbury said. “Neighbors on the hot side started asking, ‘Why should they get to have all the fun?’ That’s when the Lake Anna Jet-Setters were born.”

According to Kingsbury, the new group is all about “fun, fellowship, and fully embracing the lakeside lifestyle.”

True to that spirit of togetherness, both jet-ski groups are planning to collaborate on at least two joint events each year—bringing the wider Lake Anna community together for fun and philanthropy. The first of these will be a Jet-Ski Poker Run for Charity on September 13.

Participants will pay an entry fee and collect a playing card at each of five designated stops, building a five-card poker hand by the end of the run. Donated prizes will be awarded to top hands, and all proceeds will go to a local nonprofit supported by the Lake Anna Roosters and Foxes.

More details, including how to sign up, will be announced soon—so stay tuned and get ready to rev your engines for a great cause!
