Imagine a home that offers the ultimate vantage point at Lake Anna’s Dyke 2 on the 4th of July, a private 9-hole chip-and-putt golf course in your backyard, and water on all sides. Now picture enjoying it all from the comfort of your favorite chair, perched on the 4th floor lounge.

Packed with friends, family, and the contractors who brought their vision to life, the “Blind Squirrel Lounge” on the fourth floor of the Deckers’ private paradise transforms into the ultimate fireworks viewing spot each year, offering breathtaking, unrivaled views of Lake Anna’s annual fireworks show.
“Every year, we invite the families of the contractors who built this house,” Janna Decker explained. The Deckers formed close relationships with their contractors during the first year in their new home, as crews came and went daily, bringing their vision to life.
While the fourth floor might seem like the prime viewing spot, every level of the Deckers’ 9,000-square-foot masterpiece offers stunning views of the fireworks launched from Busbees Point on the private side of Lake Anna, with a panoramic outlook over Dyke 2.
The home itself is a marvel, featuring four finished levels of luxury living. The nine-hole chip-and-putt golf course on the peninsula reflects the Deckers’ passion for the sport, while the basement boasts a game room complete with theater chairs, and a pool and hot tub just outside. The main level offers generous, open spaces perfect for entertaining, while the third floor houses cozy bedrooms. And atop it all, the Blind Squirrel Lounge stands as the crowning jewel—a retreat with unparalleled vistas of the private side of Lake Anna.
“We love the private side,” Janna shared. “It’s quiet, and we’re not interested in boating to restaurants. For gas, we’ve got our own 500-gallon tank for both our boats and vehicles right here by the greenhouse.”
Convenience and functionality are key, with an elevator ensuring accessibility to all four levels. Aging in place and safety were among Gerry Decker’s “8 design goals” for the home.
Partnering with Jeff Owen of JO Contractors, Gerry spent a year meticulously planning the build, drafting a 76-page document outlining specifications.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
