Woof! I made a new friend! He was right in my front yard. He’s a four-legger… Kind of like me. But he’s pretty small. His little four legs are about as long as one of my toes!
Anyway, I went out to do my business… and there he was just walking in my grass. My first thought was, “Hey…A new friend!” He did not look very scary, so I decided to go right up and introduce myself to him.
The first thing I noticed is that he didn’t have a fur coat like I do. His skin was hard….like a rock. Just between you and me, he smelled kind of funny. Not that I judge. But here is the really crazy thing. When I went up to introduce myself, he pulled his head inside his body. What the woof?
One minute his little funny-looking head was there… The next minute it disappeared. And he had a little door thing that closed once his head was inside so he was all sealed up.
I picked him up because I wanted to show my two-legged pack-mom and pack-dad, but my pack-dad made me put him back down. Woof, I wasn’t gonna hurt him or anything.
I really wanted to play with him, but his head never came back out. Eventually, I had to go back inside and I saw my pack-dad through the window taking that little guy and putting him in the woods near our pack den.
I’m not sure I’ll ever make friends with him now. Goodbye little buddy. I hope you can get your head back out.
