W oof! For many, many sleeps, we have been away from our pack-den and my lake. You would think that I would be very sad about that, but I am actually having the time of my life!
You see, a while ago my two-legged pack-dad, pack-mom and me got in our rolling box and went very, very far away. It took three sleeps plus a whole other day in the rolling box just to get where we are. But, when I got out of the rolling box, it was nice and warm outside! How did that happen? Woof!
Where we are is a great place for four-leggers. Here is my favorite thing. There are actually TWO lakes here! They are very different from my lake at home. One is a little tiny lake right behind our house. It’s made out of rock or something and doesn’t have underwater swimmies in it like my lake at home. I cannot swim very far in this lake because it’s so small, but it’s fun to catch the ball in it and it helps me stay cool.
Then there is the big, big lake. We went out on a motor floaty thing so far in that lake that I could hardly see any land or trees. That was the biggest lake I have ever seen! I got to swim in that one too! So, now I have a really tiny lake here and a really huge lake. Woof!
My Uncle Matt and Aunt Lisa came with us, too. They are two-leggers and I love them. The five of us are constantly going from one place to another. We go to lots of places that serve the golden fizzy water that my pack-dad and Uncle Matt like so much. Most of the places have somebody singing (kind of like beagles do) and making the funny sounds with their stringed boxes. My two-legged pack-family really loves that.
When we go to these places, lots of two-leggers come up and scratch my back and talk to me. I like that. There are usually a bunch of other four-leggers, too. (The only bad thing that happened is that a curly-haired four-legger bit me right on my lip. Now my pack-dad has to put funny smelling stuff on my lip every day.)
This has been one of my favorite getaways ever. I do look forward to getting back to MY lake, but for now I sure am having fun!
Translators note: Beau’s first trip to the Florida Keys has been a huge success! The February weather is amazing and most of the restaurants and shops are over-the-top dog friendly. We highly recommend this trip for our dog-loving friends.
