With snow still on the ground and s’mores roasting at the campfire outside, something else was glowing inside the Louisa Arts Center on Friday, December 12.

The Louisa Arts Center welcomed families from across the community for its fourth annual Classic Christmas celebration, a free holiday event highlighting student art and seasonal activities.

Students selected from Louisa County Public Schools, kindergarten through 12th grade, were featured during the event, which blended holiday traditions with a showcase of youthful creativity.

The evening included warm fire pits with complimentary s’mores, hot chocolate, holiday crafts aboard the Arts Bus and a visit from Santa Claus. Families gathered throughout the center to enjoy the festivities while students and parents toured the galleries.

At 6 p.m., the Student Showcase Opening Reception marked the official unveiling of the 2025 Student Showcase in the Purcell Gallery. The exhibit features K–12 artwork curated by LCPS art teachers, with each piece offering a glimpse into the creativity and perspective of Louisa County’s young artists.

Designed as a gift to the community, the event gave families an opportunity to celebrate the holiday season while supporting student artists. The student artwork will remain on display at the Louisa Arts Center through January 9.
