Dear Grandmother,
Since you’ve been gone,
I fell in love
for the very first time.
It was safe and warm,
a daring adventure.
aI broke my own heart.
But slowly stitched it back together.
Although the sewing kit
wasn’t useful,
a hint of your perfume
on my sweater or pillow
was just enough to keep
me tethered to Earth.
I forgot to tune out the
background noise
and thus,
found myself
a bit lost.
I made my way back
with a map
of tiny perfect things.
To my delight,
I discovered long lost
pieces of myself
along the way.
I found God.
And you,
always you.
I got rid of everything
Uncomfortable
Unnecessary
Unworthy
of my attention
or life force.
I shed some skin
and lots of tears.
I’ve cried rivers,
swam in oceans,
talked to the moon,
wished upon stars.
I’ve felt the sun warm my skin,
crossed bridges,
climbed mountains,
got filthy.
I’ve let the shower
run shockingly hot
until it turned
icy cold again.
I drank cups of rich
black coffee
and warm hibiscus tea.
I ate fresh tomatoes
that tasted like sunshine.
I fed juicy orange slices
and hot sugary bacon
to the man and children
I love most in this world.
Just like you taught me.
I cultivated a coven
full of wise, wonderful women.
We heal each other.
We hold each other-
Accountable.
Present.
Aware.
We cast spells in the
name of love.
I dance barefoot
Every chance I get.
Say “Yes” to adventure.
Say “No” to things not meant for me.
Say “Goodbye”
far more frequently
to people
places
and projections.
I sing loudly.
Weep often.
Laugh out loud.
Feel EVERYTHING.
I let faith replace fear.
I rise and fall
like the tide,
fill my own cup
without a trace
of shame.
I set boundaries
and mean it.
I am a healer.
A goddess.
A seer.
A truth teller.
A light body
even when the world feels dark.
I see you in your
Earthly formsbunnies,
birdsongs,
and pennies from Heaven.
I look up to the sky
and you exist there too
in the clouds, halos, & rainbows.
I receive your Angel messages
and feel your love
blanket me
when I need it most.
The bountiful love
you spent a lifetime
pouring into me.
A love that was truly free.
The love that
taught me to stand
naked and unafraid.
Otherwise what’s the point?
Are we really going to half-ass it?
This one precious life.
Since you’ve been gone,
I understand the assignment.
I’m not the black sheep
or broken.
I’m not too much
or not enough.
I’m the love.
A healer.
A Shaman.
Thank you for being my guide.
My teacher.
My nurturer
and my safe place.
Until we meet again dear heart.
Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
