If you don’t go, then you don’t know; that’s the motto of the 2,676-member Lake Anna Roosters & Foxes Social Club. Founded by a group of locals looking to build community through friendship and service, the club took off when Mark Strauss stepped in to lead the effort.
The group now runs a wide range of fundraising events and social gatherings, supporting charities such as Louisa Clean, Giving Words and The Journey Home. Weekly “Darts for Charity” at Log Home Brewing, the Men of Lake Anna Calendar, and other local fundraisers provide significant contributions throughout the year.
Roosters & Foxes also hosts an annual Veterans Day Blood Drive and supports families each Christmas, providing gifts for children in need — 80 this year. Members pitch in for local service efforts as well, including the Louisa County Resource Council’s Ice Cream Socials and Lake Anna Jet Boats events.
Their social calendar stays equally full, from a New Year’s Eve Extravaganza to a St. Patrick’s Day potluck. The year is wrapping up with the group’s Annual Potluck Thanksgiving at Log Home Brewing, and they’ll celebrate again at their Annual Christmas Party at El Gran Patron on Dec. 17.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
