Louisa County’s own Macee Scott has been crowned Miss Military Star Virginia Jr. Teen, earning her first-ever state title in the Miss Military Star program. Competing in Interview, Americana, Gown, and Talent, Macee shined in every category—even while performing with a broken foot!

For the Americana segment, she paid tribute to her family’s military heritage by wearing her great-grandfather’s Army dress uniform—a meaningful nod to her roots and to her mother, Chelsea Burnette, who proudly served eight years in the Army Reserves.
This title marks an exciting milestone for Macee, a freshman at Louisa County High School. She plays soccer and hockey, and wants to be a cosmetologist. Macee plans to use her platform to expand her community service initiative, Macee’s Closet—a nonprofit initiative dedicated to empowering young women by providing gently used formal wear – free of charge – for pageants, dances and other special events.
“I’ve been reflecting on what I would do first if I’m honored with the crown—and for me, it’s simple,” Macee shared before the competition. “I’ll continue to grow Macee’s Closet, a project dedicated to promoting confidence through clothing. This journey has been such a blessing, and I’m beyond thankful for the incredible support I’ve received along the way—it’s meant the world to me.”
As she prepares for the National Miss Military Star competition in June 2026, Macee will be participating in military-related community service events across Virginia, including Wreaths Across America and other initiatives supporting veterans and active-duty families.
Her family is also inviting local businesses and community sponsors to join in supporting her journey. Sponsorships are split 50/50 between Macee’s competition expenses and donations that directly benefit the military community.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
