Louisa Clean, the grassroots organization dedicated to keeping our community pristine, has officially transitioned into a nonprofit entity. The shift marks a significant milestone in the organization’s commitment to sustainable environmental stewardship and community engagement.

Led by a dedicated Board of Directors, including President Beth Ann Boone, Secretary Carol Dezorzi, Treasurer Jody Korman, and Board Members Bobby George and Scott Randlett, Louisa Clean is poised to expand its impact and outreach. With a focus on securing grants to bolster ongoing cleanup efforts, the organization aims to further enhance the beauty and cleanliness of our surroundings.

The upcoming cleanup initiative scheduled for Friday, March 22nd, at 8:30 a.m., underscores Louisa Clean’s unwavering dedication to active participation. Volunteers are encouraged to convene at the Elk Creek Baptist Church located at 5916 Kentucky Springs Road. Participants are advised to come prepared with gloves, hats, sturdy footwear, and a convenient carrying solution, such as a fanny pack or belt, to facilitate the disposal of collected debris.

Since the outset of 2024, Louisa Clean volunteers have already made a substantial impact by collecting a commendable 147 bags of waste. This impressive tally not only highlights the organization’s effectiveness but also underscores the community’s shared commitment to preserving our natural environment.

Looking ahead, Louisa Clean is gearing up for its most ambitious endeavor yet—the Big Clean Effort scheduled for April 13th and 14th. During this two-day event, volunteers will converge to tackle cleanup efforts across designated areas. Following the cleanup, Louisa Clean will coordinate with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to ensure the proper disposal of collected waste, further reinforcing the organization’s commitment to responsible environmental stewardship.

“As Louisa Clean embarks on this new chapter as a nonprofit organization, we invite the community to join hands in fostering a cleaner, healthier Lake Anna for all,” said Jody Korman.
