In a bid to enhance emergency services at Lake Anna, the Foundation for Lake Anna Emergency Services and Cutalong have joined forces for a charity golf tournament set to take place on June 18th, beginning with a shotgun start at 10:00 am. The event aims to gather support for critical life-saving and Fire fighting equipment including an Air Cascade System and a new tanker for New Bridge Station 8.
Over the past several years, the Lake Anna community has rallied together, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to bolster emergency response capabilities. Through various initiatives, significant funds have been raised, reflecting the collective determination to ensure the safety and well-being of Lake Anna residents and visitors.
So far, the Foundation for Lake Anna Emergency Services has raised over $350,000 including $100,000 in seed money for the new fire and rescue station (with Louisa County chipping in $2.9 million) and $150,000 for a new ambulance – supplemented by $250,000 from the county. Additionally, $45,000 has been allocated for a Physio-Control LifePack, $17,000 for a Lucas Compression Device, and $15,000 for essential medical supplies for the ambulance. Furthermore, over $90,000 has been raised for a rescue boat, with an additional $125,000 pledged by the county, alongside $21,000 for a fire – fighting module for the rescue boat.
The upcoming tournament promises not only to be a platform for fundraising but also a celebration of community spirit and support. Immediately following the tournament, participants and supporters will enjoy a post-tournament celebration and party. Attendees can look forward to savoring Cooling Pond Brewery beer on tap, indulging in pizza from Vito’s at Lake Anna, and enjoying live music from local favorite, Chris Hanks. It’s an opportunity not to be missed, combining a top-notch tournament with a memorable celebration.
