Louisa County, VA – The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), in partnership with the LCSO Foundation, invites the community to lace up their running shoes and bring their furry friends for a day of fun and support at the Annual K9 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 24, 2025. The event will take place at the Spring Creek Sports Center in Zion Crossroads, starting at 8:30 AM.
This family-friendly, dog-friendly event promises an enjoyable morning for participants of all ages. In addition to the main 5K run/walk, the event will feature a Kids’ ½ Mile Fun Run, live K-9 demonstrations, music, awards, and more.
As a special thank-you to the community, each registered participant will receive a $20 gift card to Papa Jim Soft Serve in Palmyra, generously donated to support the cause and reward attendees for their participation.
More Than Just a Run
Beyond the festivities, the K9 5K serves a critical purpose. The LCSO K-9 Unit—comprised of highly trained police dogs specializing in search-and-rescue, narcotics detection, and officer protection—is funded entirely through community donations. Proceeds from the event directly support the acquisition, feeding, training, equipment, and medical care for these essential four-legged officers.
“Our K-9s are more than just dogs—they’re our partners in the field,” said Louisa County Sheriff Donald Lowe. “Every participant helps us keep these incredible animals healthy, ready, and available to serve our community.”

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
