W oof! Why do my two-leggers always say, “We’ll be right back,” then vanish for what feels like forever? I love a good nap, and the sing-sounds they leave on for me are nice, but after a while, I get really lonely. My mind starts racing: What if they never come back? Who’s gonna toss my ball in the lake or sneak me treats?
Don’t get me wrong, they’ve always come home before, so I try to trust they’ll never leave me for good. But when they’re gone too long, my tummy twists, and I get scared.
That’s when I head to the shoe basket! I usually grab one of two-legged pack mom’s shoes and one of two-legger pack dad’s, then snuggle them in my bed. Their smells make me feel better, like they’re still close. And no, I never chew them—just cuddle!
As sad as I get, all’s forgiven the moment they walk through the door. Nothing beats that tail-wagging, kiss-giving excitement of their return.
It’s my way of saying, “I sure do woof you! Welcome home!”
