The Lake Anna Roosters and Foxes gathered for their fourth annual Thanksgiving Donation Dinner, hosted by John and Lori Pope at Cooling Pond Brewery. Reflecting on their humble beginnings—just ten friends sharing a meal at Callie Opie’s in 2020—the group has grown into a powerful force for good in the Lake Anna community.
One of their primary focuses this season is helping children in need. Members are sponsoring Christmas gifts for children at The Journey Home and those in need throughout Louisa County. Funds raised through weekly dart competitions, cornhole tournaments, t-shirt and calendar sales, a summer car show, and contributions from their Christmas party have enabled the Roosters and Foxes to make impactful donations to local charities.
This year the group donated $2,700 to the Louisa County Resource Council; $1,500 to Emerging Stars; $2,500 to The Journey Home; and $2,500 to Giving Words. Earlier in the year, the group also contributed to the Louisa County Emergency Fund and The Journey Home, further underscoring their commitment to the community.
“We’re always looking for ways to do more,” shared Kristin Barmoy, chair of the charity committee, alongside Marie Snyder, Mark Strauss, Laurel Johnson and others.
In addition to their charitable giving, the group organizes an annual blood drive, held each November at Log Home Brewery, continuing their efforts to make a meaningful difference in the community.
Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
