At a Special Meeting held on March 25, 2024, the Spotsylvania County School Board announced Mr. Kelly Guempel as the interim superintendent. Mr. Guempel, currently serving as the Deputy Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer of Spotsylvania County Public Schools, will step into the role during the superintendent search process.
In addition, the School Board has chosen BWP & Associates, an educational leadership search firm, to conduct the search for the permanent superintendent. Details regarding the search process, including timelines, will be communicated to the public in the upcoming weeks.
Residents are reminded of the Budget Hearing scheduled for Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Courtland High School, commencing at 6:30 p.m. More information about the hearing can be found here.
The next regular School Board meeting is slated for April 8, 2024. Additional meetings may be convened as necessary for superintendent search planning and the finalization of the Fiscal Year 25 budget.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
