Woof! I have to tell you that I have figured out how my two-legged pack family operates. I keep my eyes on my two-leggers most of the time. I don’t want them doing anything fun without me. And I don’t want them leaving me at home either. I don’t like that.

Two-leggers are funny animals because they don’t have much fur like I do, so they have to put stuff on their bodies. (They look funny as heck to me when they don’t have any stuff on their bodies… especially my two-legged pack-dad.) But here’s what I have learned about them. When they start putting stuff on their feet, I know that means they’re probably going somewhere.

Usually they put some sort of soft things on their feet first. (Sometimes my pack-dad rolls up the two soft things into a ball and throws it to me! Woof!) After they put the soft things on their feet, then they usually put some harder things on their feet. That’s my cue.

As soon as I see them putting those things on their feet, I go right up to them and stare at them right in their eyes. If they don’t pay attention to me, I’ll put one of my paws on each one of their knees and get right up and look in their eyes…. very closely. Now, if that doesn’t work, I give them a big old lick…right in the chops. I’m pretty sure they know that means, “Beau wants to go with you.”

Once they stand up, I know just what to do. I go and lay in front of the front den opening and don’t let them open the big board to go out. You see, they can’t open that board while I’m lying there. Pretty tricky, huh?

Truth be told, they often play this trick on me… and I fall for it every time! What do they do? They open up the magic treat thing with the treats in it. When they give me a treat, I have to get away from the door to eat the treat. Then they slip out. Two-leggers can be quite sneaky.

That’s okay. At least I know that whenever they start putting the soft things and the hard things on their feet, I’ll either get to go with them or I’ll get a treat. I told you… I have them all figured out.
