A new kind of vendor will be available on the 2026 Lake Anna Home Tour… permanent jewelry. Ticket holders can get $25 any piece on March 7th.

Mineral resident Lisa Culver first slipped on a welded bracelet during a Florida vacation five years ago, she had no idea she was stepping into her future. The concept of permanent jewelry—custom fit chains welded seamlessly around the wrist, ankle, or neck—was still new to her, but the moment she felt that tiny spark of the welder, something clicked. “I’ve been a fan ever since,” she says.

That attraction grew into Coastal Chic Permanent Jewelry, a small business she launched from her home in March 2024. With no formal training, Lisa taught herself the welding process, researched materials, and curated a collection of 14K gold, sterling silver, and rosegold chains. Her launch party was packed—an early sign that the community was ready to embrace something new, meaningful, and beautifully personal.

Permanent jewelry often marks a milestone, a bond, or a memory. Lisa has seen all of it—friendship bracelets, mother-daughter pieces, and charms that carry deep emotional weight.  Lisa’s own favorite piece is simple but sentimental: a bracelet with her granddaughter’s initials.

One story still stays with her. “A widow came in with a charm made from her late husband’s thumbprint,” she recalls. “She was so grateful to have it. I was nervous welding it—what if I messed it up? But it turned out beautifully.”

For those who’ve never experienced it, Lisa describes the process as surprisingly quick and comfortable. Customers choose their chain or bangle, she sizes it precisely, and a tiny jump ring is welded closed while a piece of leather protects the skin. Charms are optional, but many customers love adding a personal touch.

“It only takes a few minutes,” she says. “But people walk away with something meaningful.”  She also offers rings, which clients can customize, choosing from an assortment of charms.

The response from the community has been overwhelmingly warm. “My house was full at my launch,” Lisa says. “And at a recent event, I had several repeat customers bringing their friends over. That meant the world to me.”  The only complaint she hears is that she doesn’t yet have a storefront. For now, she pops up at local events and hosts private individual appointments or group events – Bachelorette Parties, Bridal Showers, women’s groups, etc., but she dreams of a dedicated space in the future.

Balancing a full-time job with a growing business hasn’t been easy. Time is her biggest challenge, but she’s hopeful. “I’d love to make this my full-time job,” she says. “A storefront someday, but I’ll always keep doing popups. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories.”

That’s the heart of Coastal Chic: CONNECTION. Every bracelet, anklet, or necklace Lisa welds carries a story or creates a memory — sometimes joyful, sometimes bittersweet, but always meaningful.
