Love stories come in all forms — but few last as beautifully as Bo and Sue Stilley’s. Married for 69 years, this Lake Anna couple has shared nearly seven decades of laughter, family, travel, and faith. Originally from Louisiana, they’ve built a life rooted in friendship, service, and gratitude — and today, they say every day at the lake feels like a blessing.

How did you two meet?
Sue: I was at the swimming pool, and he came with a bunch of his male friends to watch a bunch of women in bathing suits. My friend’s car got stuck, and when he came over to help he looked at me and asked, “Who are you?” I knew at that moment that he was the one. We got together after that and it was perfect — it couldn’t have been any better.
What was your first impression?
Sue: He looked like a Greek god to me. My mother was not amused. I was 18 and he was 19, so you know — we didn’t have good sense.
Bo: When I saw her at the swimming pool, I said, “That’s my girl.”
How long did you date before getting married?
Sue: We dated for three months and then got married. Then we had five children in eight years — Tracey, Randy, Shannon, Mark, and Jason. Two of those, Randy and Jason, are no longer with us.
What has kept you strong through the years?
Bo: Short of love, not much. We both get along together. I’ll tell you the truth — this is no lie — we have yet to have a real serious argument about anything. We just don’t argue.
Sue: He’s a wonderful life partner. I couldn’t have asked for any better.
What’s your favorite thing to do together now?
Bo: I like lookin’ at her. We like to travel together — Europe, and wherever she wants to go.
Sue: At our age, we mostly just hang out, and our time together is really precious. God has granted us this special time at the lake, and we couldn’t ask for better.
What else do you want the Breeze readers to know?
Sue: Our kids take care of us beautifully. They gifted us a brand-new bathroom because they didn’t want us to fall. They’ve done everything they can think of to keep us happy and healthy.

Hi! I’m Jennifer Bailey and I partner with entrepreneurs who have massive ideas that could change the world. Most marketing is meaningless. Filled with empty promises, its only job is to bring in new traffic, new leads, and new customers. But I’ve drawn a line in the sand, and I’ve learned that marketing can do so much more than reach business goals and build profit. My methods give businesses the fire and soul they need to reach the right people, set the groundwork for sustainable relationships, and offer true value to the people on both the giving and receiving ends of marketing.
